1877-CC Seated Dime die reclassified as overdate 1877/6

In Coin World's recent April 26th edition an article by Paul Gilkes lists an 1877-CC dime as a first true overdate within the Liberty Dime series as confirmed by Gerry Fortin. A South Florida Coin Dealer Rick DeSanctis discovered the over date after he purchased a large group of coins at a show. The article quoted DeSanctis saying " It was the right coin at the right time, and I had the right knowledge." " It shows there are still neat things to be found". In the article it lists the main diagnostic details as a significant die scratch visible on the obverse shield below (libe) in Liberty, Remnants of the top of a 6 - a key diagnostic for the 1877/6-cc dime , can be seen on the crossbar of the second 7 in the date, evidence of repunching can also be seen on both feet of the numeral 1 in the date, and repunching is visible on both 7's in the date while triple punching shows at the base of the second 7. Gerry Fortin has photos of DeSanctis's coin on www.seateddime varities.com/. After reading this article I immediately went ahead and checked my seated dimes and sure enough on an example grading EF40 I had 2 of these main diagnostics plainly visible and some hint of the other main diagnostics as well using a 16X loop. I e-mailed Rick DeSanctis to let him know I had found an example in my collection of this over-date and we are even going to compare the 2 coins at a local coin show in South Florida in May. Mr. DeSanctis has also indicated that he would be happy to allow me to bring his discovery piece along to the CC-Mint show at the Nevada State Museum in August for other C4OA members to examine.
